Welcome to Beth Billstrom Photography. I’m a dog, landscape, and still life photographer creating texturally detailed images with a rustic, vintage vibe. I’m drawn to the natural elements of wood, stone, and water. I intentionally shape light to share dramatic stories that engage both subject and audience.
Wow. That sounds poetic, maybe even a bit deep? In the real world, what does that look like? Well it takes planning, a good weather app, trial and error, typically several replays, and more than one or two laughs. It also takes an understanding of off-camera lighting. continuous and flash. It means me showing up daily, working with real life subjects., and having a vision before I pick up the camera. It’s both methodical and unpredictable. It’s taken time, but it’s a lifestyle and way of approaching photography that I’ve grown into. It suits me well.
I’m very thankful to live a creative life focusing on dogs and the world I share with them. In addition to my own creations, I accept commissioned work from individuals and companies.
